On Tuesday, November 6, our generous benefactor Mr. Chaim Ryba of Munich, Germany, and his son, Mr. Rommi Ryba, paid a visit to AMC in order to view the progress of the building.  Mr. Ryba was greeted by a contingent of young adults from Ashdod and was kind enough to personally meet each one of them.  The main entrance to the Emergency Room portion of the building will be sponsored and named after Mr. Ryba.  AMC is grateful to Mr. Ryba for his generosity.

Mrs. Charlotte Knobloch, President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, honored us with a visit to the AMC site. President Knobloch is one of the primary leaders of German Jewry and has been the guiding force behind numerous important projects in Europe. Mrs. Knobloch was shocked that Ashdod has no emergency medical care and has pledged her backing and assistance in order to help make this a reality. The AMC staff and the people of Ashdod welcome President Knobloch and thank her for her support.

Mrs. Millie Werber and Ellie & David Werber of Great Neck, NY, visited the AMC site on October 9. The Werber family was pleased to see the progress and together with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Werber, will be memorializing their late husband and father through the sponsorship of one of the components.

On the eve of Rosh HaShana, 5768, we were fortunate to celebrate the beginning of the New Year in the building of the Ashdod Medical Center.  Friends, supporters and staff joined together on the ground floor to raise a toast to the success of the project.  Mayor Zvi Zilker spoke about the need for the Medical Center and the continued struggle for a full fledged hospital.
